Historical society to meet in Wentzville

The Wentzville Community Historical Society will meet Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Green Lantern Senior Center, located at 506 South Linn in Wentzville. All members and visitors are welcome.

The meeting will feature a new video version of Wentzville history presented by Deborah Bowman and Larry Marshall. It includes several pictures provided by citizens and photos from the museum archives. More pictures are needed, and residents may submit them by contacting Marshall at 636-639-8989.

A catered meal during the meeting can be purchased for $7. For meal reservations, call Peggy at 636-327-8826 or Maxine at 636-327-4331.In other Historical Society news, a reproduction of the 1905 Plat Book is being sold for $20, and Marshall can be contacted for copies. The Historical Society will also take part in the celebration of Wabash Days Oct. 3-5. The society's red caboose, located on Main Street, will be open, and it also will have a poker tournament Oct. 3; a motorcycle show, karaoke and musical entertainment Oct. 4; and a car show, square dance demo, karaoke and more musical entertainment on Oct. 5.
