ROAD REPORT: Gravois at Geyer Road to become signalized intersection

I-64 (HWY. 40) RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
The following lanes will be closed as part of the Interstate 64 (Highway 40) reconstruction work through Saturday, Sept. 13.
Monday, Sept. 8From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., one lane of southbound Lindbergh Boulevard will be closed at I-64.
From 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., westbound I-64 will have one lane closed between Kingshighway Boulevard and the Clayton-Skinker exit. At 8 p.m., a second westbound lane will be closed.
Tuesday, Sept. 9
From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., one lane of southbound Lindbergh Boulevard will be closed at I-64.
From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., one lane of the southbound I-170 ramp to Eager Road will be closed for setting bridge girders. Expect four 15-minute traffic stops for setting the girders in place.
From 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., westbound I-64 will have one lane closed between Kingshighway Boulevard and the Clayton-Skinker exit. At 8 p.m., a second westbound lane will be closed.
Wednesday, Sept. 10
No traffic restrictions are scheduled.
Thursday, Sept. 11
No traffic restrictions are scheduled.
Friday, Sept. 12
From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., the intersection of Brentwood Boulevard and Eager Road will be controlled by stop signs during work on the traffic signals.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY
Gravois Road at Geyer/Sappington Barracks - Construction work has started to install signals at this intersection. Daily, crews will close the crossover at Geyer/Sappington Barracks on Gravois for widening work. Motorists will not be able to make a left turn into Geyer from eastbound Gravois or from westbound Gravois onto Sappington Barracks. Possible lane closures on Gravois during the day. The project is scheduled to be complete in December.
Interstate 44 North Outer Road from Six Flags Road to Central - The contractor is resurfacing and repairing pavement on the north outer road from Six Flags/Allenton to Central in the city of Eureka. Work will take place from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. This project is expected to be completed in November.
Lindbergh Boulevard from Interstate 70 to Manchester Road - The contractor is installing conduit and fiber optic cable on Lindbergh for traffic signal networking. Work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. This project is expected to be completed by May 2009.
Lindbergh Boulevard at Whitehall Manor Drive - The contractor is performing traffic signal reconstruction at this intersection. Work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. This project is expected to be completed by May 2009.
Clayton Road between Highway 141 and Baxter Road - Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction between 6:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. The contractor will be placing the top lift of asphalt on Clayton.
Interstate 44 from Interstate 270 to Williams Road - Crews are patching and repairing pavement on I-44 from I-270 to Williams Road. Work will take place from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will work on eastbound I-44 between Williams and I-270 with various lane closures. This project continues until November.
Lindbergh Boulevard from Elm Grove to New Halls Ferry Road - The contractor will continue curb removal and driveway removal and replacement on Lindbergh Boulevard from New Halls Ferry Road to Patterson Avenue. Also, crews will begin resurfacing from Elm Grove north to St. Ferdinand. Work will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will close only one lane at a time. This project is expected to be completed by May 2009.
Interstate 55 at Reavis Barracks Road - Crews have completed the work on this project. Some minor work will take place next week. The work consisted of widening the east side of the ramp and removing and shifting the location of the existing island, which will result in three lanes for traffic. The work also included new traffic signals.
North Lindbergh Boulevard from east of the intersection of New Halls Ferry Road to west of the Highway 367 interchange - Crews have completed the installation of concrete medians and highway lighting is complete on Lindbergh from east of the intersection of New Halls Ferry to west of the Hwy. 367 interchange.
Interstate 170 at Olive Boulevard - Crews will be completing work associated with building the Olive/I-170 interchange. Crews will be working on sidewalk, grading and other final tasks on the project. Drivers can expect occasional lane closures through the remaining work.
Gravois Road between Weber Road and River Des Peres - Construction has started to install traffic-signal interconnect systems. Lane closures are possible on Gravois between Weber and River Des Peres between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Various bridges - The contractor will be performing bridge deck repair on various bridges on I-270 and I-44. The schedule is tentatively as follows: Monday, Sept. 8, eastbound I-44 bridge over the Meramec River, right lane closed; Tuesday, Sept. 9, eastbound I-270 bridge at New Halls Ferry Road, two left lanes closed; Wednesday, Sept. 10, northbound I-270 bridge at Fee Fee Road, right three lanes closed. Expect various lane closures and ramp closures from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
Various routes throughout St. Louis County - Work has been completed on all routes. Clean-up work is taking place on Clayton Road from Kehrs Mill Road to Clarkson Road and on Ballas Road from Conway Road to Clayton Road.
Highway 367 from Norma Lane south of Lindbergh Boulevard - All work is complete. Only minor lane closures can be expected this spring for seeding and sodding operations.
ST. LOUIS CITY
Riverview Drive - Crews have completed this project. It included manhole adjustments, pavement repair, milling to level surface and thin-lift asphalt overlay. The project began at the intersection with Hall Street and extends to the eastbound ramps at I-270.
Hampton Avenue at Interstate 44 to the Sublette Avenue bridge - Work is completed on the improvements to the eastbound on-ramp to I-44 from Hampton. Widening of the ramp and the Sublette bridge is complete. Some minor work on the Hampton bridge wall and abutment remains off the roadway during daytime and periodic nighttime work.
ST. CHARLES COUNTY
Interstate 70 at Wentzville Parkway - A project is under way to improve ramp access from southbound Wentzville Parkway to eastbound and westbound I-70. Work on Wentzville Parkway will occur during the week. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid delays.
Highway 61 at McCoy Creek - Work is complete.
Highway 40 between Lake St. Louis Boulevard and Interstate 70 - Crews are paving the new eastbound Hwy. 40 lanes. Lanes on eastbound Hwy. 40 from Callahan Road to Dauphine Road and the eastbound Hwy. 40 entrance and exit ramps at the new Prospect interchange should be open to the public in early October. Crews also will continue to work on the construction of the new eastbound Hwy. 40 bridge of Peruque Creek at Lake St. Louis. That bridge should be opened later this year and the south service road as well. Crews also have begun construction on the south half of the bridge for Prospect Road. Crews have closed access to Hwy. 40 from Prospect Road for material staging and bridge construction. Traffic wishing to access Hwy. 40 should detour through Callahan Road. Crews have closed access from Oak Bluff Drive to Hwy. 40. To access the road, drivers need to take the Lake St. Louis Boulevard exit, go south to Hawk Ridge Circle and take a right. Take another right onto Freymouth Road, which leads to a newly completed extension that ties directly into Oak Bluff Drive. Crews have closed access from Cedar Creek Court and Hickory Glen Court to Hwy. 40. To access these roads, motorists must use the new south service road and Prospect Road from the Callahan-Duello intersection.
Highway A over Highway 61 in Wentzville - Crews are working on miscellaneous corrections from a recent semifinal inspection. All lanes on Hwy. A and Hwy. 61 are open to traffic.
Highway N between Spring Orchard Drive and Meadowlake Drive - Crews have completed widening the roadway to make room for a left-turn lane. Some construction traffic remains to complete shoulder work.
Highway 364 between Jungs Station Road and Jungermann Road - Placement of base rock is complete on the south outer road and Cinnamon Hills Drive. Trimming of rock and placement of concrete is expected by the middle of September. Grading is continuing on the north outer road. Placement of base rock on the north outer road will begin upon completion of the south outer road work. Trucks are hauling across Harvester Road just north of Highway 94. Drivers should use caution and watch for flaggers in this area, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Cinnamon Hills Road is closed at Harvester Road, the back entrance to Harvester Square Shopping Center, and the entrance to the US Bank. Woodstone Drive is closed at Haymarket Drive and Centre Point Drive. Drivers should use alternate routes. This is part of stage one construction. Drivers should use caution, as trucks will be entering and exiting the highway. This is the first section of phase two Hwy. 364. This job includes grading, concrete pavement, drainage and a steel girder bridge at Harvester Road. The paving includes new north and south outer roads between Jungs Station Road and just east of Jungermann Road, and new Hwy. 364 pavement from Jungs Station Road to just east of Woodstone Drive.
JEFFERSON COUNTY
Highway 30 at Little Brennan - Lane restrictions will be in place as crews add turn lanes, widening of shoulders and installation of new signals and lighting. This job is scheduled to be complete by October.
Highway 61 (Jeffco Boulevard) at Richardson Road - Construction for roadway widening continues this wee. Traffic will be switched to the new pavement to facilitate the installation of new signals and concrete medians. Various lane closures can be expected in both directions from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This job is scheduled to be complete by late September.
Interstate 55 West Outer Road at Seckman Road - The West Outer Road, which had been closed between Seckman and Old Antonia Road, is open to traffic. Work will continue in this area, with various lane closures. Flaggers may be in place daily at this location from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to allow trucks access to the job site. The job is scheduled to be complete by Oct. 3.
New Highway 21 from Old Highway 21 to Hayden Road - Old Hwy. 21 is closed at New Hwy. 21 for construction of the new interchange. Traffic can detour the ramp bypass or Schenk Road. This project consists of relocating Hwy. 21 between Old Hwy. 21 and Hayden Road.
Highway 61/67 at Joachim Creek - Hwy. 61/67 will have daily lane closures to complete bridge rehabilitation work, weather permitting. This project is scheduled to be completed in the summer.
Jeffco Boulevard (Highways 61 and 67) from Meramec Bottom Road to Highway M - Construction is continuing along Jeffco to install traffic signal interconnect systems at various locations. There will be right-lane closures at various locations on Hwy. M from Hwy. 61/67 to Interstate 55 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. This project is scheduled to be complete in September.
Highway BB from Highway 21 to Highway 30 - Hwy. BB is closed at Sand Creek. Expect daily one-way traffic-lane closures for cross-drainage replacement from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. This project consists of cross-drainage replacement, roadway realignment at Old Baker School Road. This project is scheduled to be complete by fall.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
Highway T east of Washington, Mo. - A thin lift overlay will be placed on Hwy. T, east of Washington near the Highway V intersection, from West Highway 100 in Franklin County to East Highway 100 in St. Louis County near Wildwood. The total length of the improvement is 14 miles. Expect delays for pavement repair and milling and asphalt operations on Hwy. T from the West Hwy. 100 intersection, continuing through the Labadie and St. Albans areas to the Wildwood area in St. Louis County on Hwy. T. Pavement repairs are being performed in various locations. Work zone areas will move as operations move.
Highway N in Pacific - Resurfacing operations are complete on Hwy. N from Congress Street in Pacific west to just east of the Meramec River. The total length of the improvement is 2.25 miles. Delays are possible following striping operations when corrective action is needed.
Interstate 44 Outer Road - Resurfacing operations are complete on the I-44 outer road from east of Hwy. 100 to east of Viaduct Street in the city of Pacific. This includes a segment of Thorton Street. The total length of the improvement is 2.75 miles. Delays are possible following striping operations when corrective action is needed.
Highway 100 east of South Point Road to Highway AT in the city of Washington - Utility relocations and clearing and grubbing operations are continuing. There should be only minimal impact to traffic. This project will widen Hwy. 100 from the city of Washington east to I-44. The project is expected to be completed by late summer 2010.
Highway 185 at Interstate 44 in Sullivan - The new intersection at Hwy. D and the south service road are open. West Springfield Road is closed from Fisher Street to Missouri Avenue for pavement and other reconstruction. A signed detour is in place detouring traffic to the South Service Road or west on West Springfield Road. Hwy. 185 north from the I-44 south outer road to Dunsford Street is closed for several weeks of pavement and other reconstruction. A signed detour is in place detouring traffic through Dunsford and Franklin streets to the north outer road. Expect delays through this detour. Motorists are advised to use extra caution between 7 and 8 a.m. during the school year due to increased volume of traffic traveling to and from Sullivan area schools. The project is expected to be complete by late fall.
Highway 30 at Highway 47 over the BNSF Railroad in St. Clair - The project is completed. Impact to traffic is possible if corrective action is needed, following inspection that will be performed this week.
Highway 100 west of the city of Washington near Highway 185 - This project is a bridge replacement over Little Boeuf Creek. Traffic has been diverted to the temporary bypass until the new bridge is completed sometime this fall. The new bridge deck is being constructed this week. The project is expected to be completed by late November.
