From 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, 20 percent of all breakfast and lunch sales at the McDonald's at 1001 N. Main St. in O'Fallon will be donated to BackStoppers.

BackStoppers is a charity that gives financial support to families of local and county police officers, firefighters, publicly funded paramedics, emergency medical technicians and volunteers with fire units who have died in the line of duty.

McDonald's is making its donation in conjunction with the annual Hometown Heroes charity softball game, when O'Fallon police officers will play O'Fallon firefighters, scheduled for Aug. 7 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. The softball game is set to begin at 5:05 p.m., prior to that night's River City Rascals game.
