Senior briefs O'Fallon offers seminars for seniors The city of O'Fallon's Senior Advisory Board is hosting a free seminar, "Seniors, Let's Talk about Reverse Mortgages, Home Equity Loans, Assisted Living and Nursing Homes." The seminar runs from 9 a.m.-noon July 19 at the O'Fallon Senior Center, 106 N. Main St., O'Fallon. To make sure everyone has a seat, reservations are required. To register call 636-474-2732. Bob Lane and Karen Webb will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of reverse mortgages. Lane is a mortgage banker with the Paramount Mortgage Company and a leading reverse mortgage writer in the St. Louis area. Webb of Wachovia Securities is a member of AARP's speakers' bureau. Richard Cavanagh will discuss the pros and cons of assisted living verses nursing homes. Cavanagh teaches health administration and gerontology for Webster University and is the president of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program of St. Louis.
