Decorators receive award for home design
The Lankenau/Sowatsky design team received their award during Interiors by Decorating Den's 39th annual Design and Market Conference in Washington, D.C., which ran from May 12-18. The playroom also was voted to third place out of 300 entries in the people's choice category by decorators in attendance.
Lankenau and Sowatsky were joined by St. Louis designers Nancy Barrett and Deb Bokamper in receiving a third place award for their 2007 ASID Showhouse bathroom. They transformed a drab and dated bathroom space into a bright and lively space complete with a cozy bench and luxurious silk draperies.Nearly 30 leading home-furnishings magazine editors from publications, such as Better Homes and Gardens, Traditional Home, House Beautiful, House & Garden and Good Housekeeping, participated as judges. Winners were selected based on their design excellence, creative problem-solving and overall presentation.
Alisa Lankenau and Heidi Sowatsky now have access to an extensive library of before and after high resolution, digital photographs featuring thousands of room makeovers.
Interiors by Decorating Den's room makeovers have been featured in such publications as Good Housekeeping, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman's Day, House Beautiful, and House & Garden. In addition, the company has been featured in a variety of design segments on HGTV and The Discovery Channel.
Established in 1969, Interiors by Decorating Den has more than 500 franchises and decorators worldwide. Each decorator brings thousands of design ideas, as well as samples of window, wall and floor coverings; furniture; and accessories directly to their clients' homes or offices.
