Church hosts fishing derby The Methodist Church at Wentzville, 725 Wall St., will host the fourth annual fishing derby from 4-6 p.m. May 17 at the church's pond. Habitat for Humanity dinner, auction May 17 United Methodist Church of the Shepherd, 1601 Woodstone Drive in St. Charles, will host a Habitat for Humanity dinner and auction at 6:30 p.m. May 17. Saint Peter Parish schedules picnic Saint Peter Parish, Second Street and First Capitol Drive in St. Charles, will host a picnic from 6-11 p.m. May 17 and noon-8 p.m. May 18. On May 17, the event will feature a beer garden, fish by Tubby's Pub & Grub, live music by Nickel Jones and carnival rides. On May 18, the event will feature a parade, carnival rides, games, bingo, raffles, silent and live auctions, and Waterloo German Band from 3-7 p.m. From 11 a.m.-7 p.m., there will be an all-you-can-eat chicken dinner. Ebenezer UCC plans dinner May 18 Ebenezer United Church of Christ, Walnut and Public streets in Augusta, will host a spring festival and all-you-can-eat chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. May 18. The menu will feature fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, greenbeans, applesauce, cole slaw, homemade bread and cake. Cost for adults is $9; cost for children 6-12 is $4.
